Obus Oweh, aka Obie is a musician from Lagos,Nigeria. Grown up in germantown, MD and moved out on he’s own to Virginia Beach around the age of 22 years old.
Obie’s instrumentals was always known to be a “beast” earning him the name “Obieast.” Although spelt that way it is still pronounced “Obeast.”  Just another way to be easily found and standout
His versatility ranges from producing, writing, and audio engineering. In an effort to keep his originality Obie started his own label, Stilafin Sounds in 2001. Obies beats tend to be more drum heavy but that is completely intentional due to him being a former drummer. As you’re listening to his music you’ll hear significant messages throughout he’s tracks. The end goal of obies music is to have you lost in his overwhelming sounds of goodness. Though his music is categorized as “Hip-hop,” Obie finds inspiration in many other genres. He originally took inspiration from other local producers such as Timbaland and Pharrell, and credits the night life for his up tempo style. His personal playlist ranges from all genres, from artist such as Cam’ron to Gabriel & Dresden.
Coming from a musically inclined family in Nigeria, Obie knew early on music was his passion. His dad gave him his first set of drums at age 5 and he hasn’t looked back since. Before starting his own label, Obie performed in numerous bands throughout his teens
